22w0d

There's nothing but BLUE skies do I see :) We had the big ultrasound on Friday and baby cooperated, we are having a boy! The tech was able to get the gender pictures right away, she had us close our eyes while she looked. She printed out a picture and labeled it with the gender...we had her seal the picture in an envelope. I asked how sure she was, her response was "Oh I'm very sure" LOL. The tech also got great shots of the heart and we got the results from my doctor later that day, everything looks good!!!  After we left the clinic, we didn't have a plan...we had people at our house for the garage sale, so we couldn't go home and open the envelope and celebrate in privacy. We talked about waiting until later that night but we knew we'd never be able to wait that long. So running out of options, we decided to class it up and head to McDonald's for breakfast before heading home. We ordered some food and found a secluded booth in the kids area. I took the picture out upside down and we both closed our eyes...as they were closed, I flipped it over and we looked on the count of 3...we saw "It's a Boy!!" at the bottom of the picture. We were so excited...even though I've always known it was a boy...it still doesn't feel real yet...maybe in a few more days it will finally sink in :)

How far along? 22w0d or 55%
Total weight gain/loss: +9 pounds
Size: Spaghetti Squash or Papaya!  He is about 11 inches long and around 1 pound.
Baby Development: Pumpkin seed is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. There is fine hair that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Also his pancreas are developing steadily.
Best moment this week: Finishing the followup ultrasound (with good news!) and finding out we are having a son!
Movement: Yes, I feel him move all the time...nothing external yet so Joe is still *patiently* waiting to feel a kick!
Food cravings: Nothing new
Food aversions: None
What I miss: Jimmy John's, alcohol, my jeans (haven't bought maternity ones since I doubt I'll wear them much this summer)
Milestones: Nothing for this week.

We had a successful weekend, we got rid of a lot of stuff and made a little over $100 (overall around $350 in total between the 3 of us).  We only had a few boxes left over, which are going to Goodwill.  We didn't sell the old bedroom set we have but we may repaint the dresser and use in the nursery instead. We are slowly making progress on emptying the office, to make room for the nursery stuff.

Today should be a fairly lazy day for us, grocery shopping and picking up the house...it looks like rain so we got the outside stuff done this morning before it hits.
