Total weight gain/loss: +8 pounds (no change from last week, I've come to accept the fact that I'm not a gradual gainer, I like to pack on the pounds in chunks, LOL)
Size: Banana or Carrot! Pumpkin seed is around 3/4 of a pound this week and approximately 10.5 inches long.
Baby Development: This week he'll feel like he's practicing marital arts and the fluttering movements will turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges (which I can believe, this little one is moving all the time). His eyebrows and lids are present now as well.
Best moment this week: Feeling our baby move every day, throughout the day. Such a cool feeling and tells me everything is still trucking along :)
Movement: Yes! I notice it the most after eating or having caffeine/juice. I feel him/her move at my desk all day...makes the work day a lot more enjoyable, that's for sure!
Symptoms: No major symptoms, ring is still on, yay!
Food cravings: Nothing new
Food aversions: None
What I miss: Jimmy John's, alcohol, my jeans (haven't bought maternity ones since I doubt I'll wear them much this summer)
Milestones: We started clearing out the guest bedroom last weekend...the bed and desk are still there yet...but I've cleared out the closet and it only has baby stuff now (except for Joe's tie rack which won't work with our closet system, so it will stay put). I also went on a diaper shopping spree the past few weeks and our pre-folds arrived in the mail...I've started the LONG process of washing and prepping them all. The pre-folds will need at least 4-5 wash cycles with extra rinses so they take at least 1.5 hours to wash each time in our machine. I'm glad I started now...I should have them ready by October. I guess I didn't realize the prep work that had to go into getting the diapers ready! Thankfully the don't require that many washes once you use them (just 2 wash cycles and an extra rinse or two). I have a bunch of all-in-one bum genius diapers that also need multiple washings too...but I will just sneak them in when I have time and other laundry doesn't need to be done...I will get there eventually. For now, they are just taking up space on my laundry room floor, which is driving me slightly crazy :)
Ultrasound Update: We are going back in next Friday for a followup ultrasound...I hope we have good news on both the heart and gender identification...although if I only get one, I will choose the heart every time.
In other news, we had a great holiday weekend at my parents lake place...the weather cooperated most of the time so my Dad and Joe got some fishing in, although they were unsuccessful in catching anything. I finished organizing my non-pro wedding pics and got them into an album (a 12x12, 3 inch scrapbook album with 12 picture sleeves)...holy crap. I'm guessing I have over 900 in there...thanks to a very generous family friend, who captured over 500 pictures of the day for us. I cherish those as much as my pro pics, especially the dance ones. I have some great shots of the chicken dance, hokey pokey and electric slide. And with all the pictures taken at the salon, I truly have the entire day captured...and it's so fun to look back and reminiscence. I look forward to the day our kids are old enough to sit down and page through the special day that made them possible :)
This weekend, I plan to hit up some garage sales since I'll actually be in town for once. On Sunday, I'm meeting up with some of my girls for lunch. It should be awesome weather too, so I'm really looking forward to it. And I've never been more thankful for central air than I am today with highs in the 90s (and will be all summer, I think it's going to be a scorcher)...after 2 summers with window units, it is just heavenly...I could dry my hair this morning without an ounce of sweat on my forehead...just awesomeness!
We also had a guy that Joe ended up knowing from high school, come to the house and quote us on new seamless gutters...and it ended up being a price we were comfortable spending (unlike the previous quotes we had)...and he said they will be ready to go on Wednesday, yay! I won't be sad to see the orange Home Depot bucket disappear from the front of the house, where the old crappy gutter has been leaking all spring. We also decided that when we have enough money saved, we are going to paint the existing siding instead of completely replacing it (should cost dramatically less). Joe had someone out so we had an idea of what we needed to sock away and we are still waiting for a quote...just another thing to add to our mile long list of house updates we still need to make :o/
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend...I'm just counting down the hours now...I'm leaving at 1:30 so we can check out another daycare. I'm hoping this is the one, it would be SO convenient and it's right across from our gym, so I would have no excuse not to go that way anymore after work. Plus, it's the least expensive center we've looked at and our friends Brooke and John take their daughter there...and have nothing but great things to say about them. Not to mention, it would be nice to check this big item off the list too!
Happy Friday!
