Here is Mason trying bananas for the first time...he was NOT a fan which really surprised us because I eat bananas every day. But eventually he's warmed up to them.
Mason also turned 7 months last week...where did my little baby boy go?!? It's getting harder and harder to keep Mason sitting still for these pictures.
On Saturday (April 28th), Mason cut his FIRST tooth! It's just about all the way through and we are waiting for the other side to cut through any day now. One of these days I will get a picture of them too :)
Mason also has been sick the past few weeks with a cough and congestion, which has turned into a runny nose this week. He also has a yeast diaper rash so we had to temporarily switch to disposables so we don't ruin our cloth with the medication. Luckily we had some medicated cream from when he was a few weeks old, even though it didn't end up being a yeast rash at that time. It's been a day now and it looks so much better. While I've secretly enjoyed the break from washing diapers and the $6 I spent on the 30 pack wasn't all that bad, I can only imagine how that adds up over time! But my poor baby...teething, trying to get over a cold and now a painful diaper rash :(
I'm also having a tough time accepting how fast he is growing up...time is just slipping away too darn fast. I find myself rocking a little bit longer and hugging a little bit tighter. I just try to take every second I have with him in and memorize his face, his gummy smile, his smell and how he feels sleeping on my chest...I hope I never forget how he feels in this moment in time...if only I could freeze time for a just a little bit, I would give anything for that opportunity!
We also traveled overnight for the first time a few weeks ago. We went home for a friend's baby shower. Surprisingly, it went really well. Mason slept very well in the PNP and was a little ham at the shower, he did so well. I was a pretty proud mama that day :) We had a little mishap at the beginning of the trip...I had left work a little early, picked up Mason from daycare and then headed home to get Shiloh and to pack the last few things from home. I then headed DT to pick up Joe at work by 5. We were about 3 blocks from Joe's work when I heard this really loud gurgling noise...I knew it was either an explosive diarrhea diaper or Shiloh threw up. I wasn't sure which one I wanted it to be...both were going to suck LOL. I get to the parking lot and it ended up being Shiloh. She hasn't gotten motion sick in so long, we thought she outgrew it. But all the stop and go of DT traffic must have made her sick, poor baby. But we got it cleaned up and then we were on our way. It was a great weekend and Mason finally got to meet some of my friends from home.
In work related news, my new job is going well. I do really miss my old co-workers though...that has been the hardest part, not seeing them every day :( But I've been at Target for 7 weeks now and I'm starting to feel a little bit smarter every day. This week, I pitched my first quarter end reviews to my Director, the Sr Mgr, Manager and my supervisor, which was a little nerve wracking but I think it went fairly well. It is also Target's 50th anniversary this week so there have been lots of activities and free food at work. Norah Jones performed downtown on Tuesday over lunch. I wasn't able to get DT that day (way too busy this week) but they streamed it live to our building, which I was able to go to and it was cool to watch. And today, I got to meet Bullseye! She's such a cool dog, so well behaved too!
We also headed to Target Studios last weekend to get some family pictures taken...there isn't much time at his sessions with Amber, so I wanted to get a few of us with Mason...here are some of my favorites :) This poor kid...how is he ever going to choose?!?!?
