It's been a busy week...the week started out great, coming off the big Superbowl win. I ordered my Superbowl Champs sweatshirt but unfortunately it still hasn't shipped...it was supposed to ship on Tuesday...I'm worried it's on backorder now...so who knows how long that will take, boo!
Our contractor finally finished up the work on the rental house and we headed down on Saturday to inspect the work before we paid him. OMG, it was a disaster...I seriously don't know how this man makes money if this is how he leaves his jobs. Thankfully the floor looks good and doesn't need to be touched...most of the trim will need to be redone and we need to do some patching and painting on the walls, due to the new vanity being smaller than the old one. The new bathroom door was cracked and our contractor still installed it without asking us about it first. Luckily, Lowe's will still let us exchange the door, even though it has been installed. Seriously, I LOVE Lowe's...yeah, they might be a little more expensive but they won all of my future business with how awesome they've been and helped us through this process. We've also hired Joe's stepdad to go down this week and complete all the finishing touches that SHOULD have been done by our contractor. Thankfully we didn't pay the contractor until the job was done (thank you Mike Holmes, we love you and your show and have learned SO much from watching it!), so he didn't get all of this money...and he lost out on a HUGE construction job we hope to do one day on our home. So at least we learned now what kind of work he does and can look for someone better next time. And so the never ending drama continues...I hope this fiasco finally comes to an end soon.
On to the more positive things of the week, I'm at 6 out of 12 visits to the gym this month, yay! It feels so good to be working out again and to have a goal...when I was training for the 5K last fall, I never missed a workout...I'm really hoping I get reimbursed from Joe's insurance company...it might be the thing that motivates me to go each week.
We also decided we are going to Arizona and Las Vegas in April for our anniversary. We are staying with my sister for part of the trip and then spending the other part in Vegas. We got a super awesome deal on flights (Suncountry had 25% off flights last week) so now the hunt is on for some cheap hotel and rental car deals! We had gone back and forth for a while about this trip...but at the end of the day, you only live once and we don't know what the future holds, so we wanted to go while we still could. I'm super pumped, can't wait :)
