I'm back!

Yes, I am still alive. I'm so far behind in updates that I've dreaded coming back and trying to recap the past few months...so here it goes, I think I left off in March, yikes!

We went on wonderful week long vacation in Arizona. My sister got married. Wasn't she stunning?!?And I gained a fantastic brother-in-law that week :)

Mason met the globetrotters and hunted eggs at school. Of course my son was the one wouldn't sit still while the players read the kids a story.

The Easter Bunny came and hid eggs all over the house.

And we just hung out with this goofy little boy, waiting for spring to finally arrive!

Mason turned 18 months at the end of March. And he was his usual hammy self that day.

In April, we listed our house again. My boss moved on to another role and I had to pick up extra work while they looked to fill it. Mason and I headed to Madison for my cousin's bridal shower and to visit with my grandpa, who hasn't been doing well. It was so great to see him and the rest of my family. Mason got some great bonding time with his grandma :)

May brought some really big changes to our lives. Joe quit his job with State Farm and started with Liberty Mutual. It's a very long story and not one I can share over the internet...but after a lot of thought, Joe felt it was time to move on and when this fantastic opportunity with Liberty came along, he couldn't pass it up. We sold our house. In the process, we found out our septic system could be leaking. So whether we stay or sell, we have no choice but to replace the septic tanks. It's awesome to throw thousands of more dollars into a money pit that won't be ours soon. Le sigh. I need to focus on the positives because pending the appraisal coming back high enough, we close July 16th and we get to buy OUR house. We don't have a house lined up. We've seen one we really like but don't want to rush into anything because this will be our house for the next 30+ years. No pressure here...finding your dream home in less than 60 days...cake walk, right? All joking aside, I am very thankful we have family in the area that have graciously offered short term hospitality so we won't have to scramble and find an apartment.

The manager above my boss has moved on to another role as well. They still haven't filled my manager's position yet, we are going on 2 months now. They wanted to upgrade the pay grade for that role and it's taken forever. So work has become even more insane, trying to just keep my head above water. Gotta love Target's culture of changing roles every 18-24 months.

And finally I dropped Joe off at the airport at 6am this morning, he is in Florida for the next 2 weeks for training. It's been very hard today, knowing he'll be gone for so long, Mason has been asking for him constantly today. He just doesn't understand where Daddy went. The good news is Mason and I are flying down this weekend to visit. We are planning to visit Magic Kingdom and possibly Daytona Beach another day. I'm very excited about the trip...but flying alone, with a toddler who doesn't listen and can't sit still...yeah, I just hope I survive the flight without us both having meltdowns on the plane.

The phrase "when it rains, it pours" could not be more true right now...not sure I can take anything more on my plate. I feel pulled in a million directions at all times and always stressed out. It takes everything in me not to freak out, for I know it will all work out....but some days, getting there feels like moving a mountain.
