13w0d

Depending on where I look, I've officially entered the 2nd trimester today...or will in 3 more days. I've seen 12 weeks, 13 weeks and 13 weeks and 3 days all stated as the start of 2nd...either way, I'm 1/3 of the way there, woohoo!!

Pumpkin seed is a peach this week.  She is about 3 inches long (about the size of a medium shrimp) and weights just an ounce. Fingerprints have formed on her tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head...which makes up just a third of her body size now. If pumpkin seed is a indeed a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Also, her teeth and vocal cords are starting to form in her tiny little body and her intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to her tummy.

There really hasn't been a huge change from last week...what I love about this picture is I got both Shiloh and Joe in the picture without realizing it.  If you look closely, Joe made the photo last week too without trying.  And I promise I wear more than just sweats and t-shirts...I just need to remember to snap a picture before we take Shiloh for a walk in the evenings and I've put on workout clothes!

I'm feeling back to myself...almost too much!  It makes me a little nervous but I've read on the bump boards other woman are feeling the same as me...I don't feel pregnant right now, I just feel fat (even though I haven't gained any weight since my dr's appointment 2 weeks ago).  I know this is part of the deal...but when your clothes continue to get tighter and tighter...it's still hard to deal with, even when you are pregnant :(  I'm hoping to get some new clothes this weekend though, so I'm more comfortable and not constantly reminded throughout the day that my clothes don't fit like they used to.

We finalized our vacation details this week, so I'm getting super pumped.  We are really overdue for some time off and R&R.  It's been a year since I've had a week off.  I've taken days here and there since then...but we haven't taken a week off since our wedding and honeymoon last year.  I can feel it at work too, I've been crabby the past few months, I need some time away from that place!

I made the official announcement at work this week. I found sugar cookies at Target that had blue and pink frosting. I made a sign that said "What will it be...boy or girl?!?!" and left the cookies and sign out in our common area.  There are only a handful of us that are in child bearing years, so it didn't take people long to figure out who it was. Although a few people did think it was my co-worker that is getting married in November, LOL. They were right outside her office so they weren't sure...but most people knew who it was right away. And FWIW, pink won the contest (they were gone first)...so we'll see :)

Today was interesting at work with the potential government shutdown. There were lots of meetings and emails going around, preparing for the worst. Thankfully my contracts won't be affected (we are fully funded, so we can continue work as normal) but we do have some government owned facilities that might not be open on Monday (mine is company leased, so that doesn't effect me either). What stinks is if you aren't able to work, you are required to take PTO then. It will be interesting to hear tomorrow morning if they have shut down and what the ramifications will be, both for our country and my company.

We are meeting my parents and Jim & Lisa in Woodbury tomorrow for lunch for Jim's birthday.  I'm so excited to see my family. Then I'm going to check out Target and Motherhood Maternity to look for some summer clothes for our trip to Arizona and Vegas.  I don't think jeans and sweaters are going to cut it :)

Otherwise, we had a pretty quiet week.  Just glad it's finally the weekend! Hope you all have a great weekend! I hear it might reach 70 tomorrow, yay!!!
